I’ve been writing songs since I was quite young. After realizing the songs were actually short books, I decided to take a shot at writing a novel. I loved it. I wanted to create this blog site to share my thoughts on writing and to get your thoughts. The best way to learn is to listen to those who have tread before you. My first blog was a simple question. Have any of you tried to write a book based on a song? Give it a try. It might get you rolling on a new book. A lot of times all you need is start.

I like the idea of turning to songs for inspiration for a story. I play guitar and banjo, mainly for my own entertainment and have so many favourites. The first one that springs to mind is, The Stereophonics – Local Boy in the Photograph (well worth a listen if not familiar). They got the inspiration for the song from a piece in their local paper.
